I’ve been a practicing musician for over 40 years – jazz, blues, folk on piano, bass, trombone and a few others.

Now, I’m trying to play like myself – improvised piano music with roots in Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, Lester Young and Otis Spann.

“Martin Fritter’s approach to piano playing is like an experienced figure
skater performing free form arabesques with style. He expresses in his
playing his unique openness to go wherever the moment leads.”

Lucien Wulsin former Chairman of the Colorado Council on the Arts, former Chairman Baldwin

“The prevailing tone of Martin Fritter’s playing is a quiet, spacious
elegance. But there are emotional depths, which allow a given
passage to seem melancholy, and then, at another hearing, joyous.”

Newcomb Greenleaf, Professor of Computer Science, Columbia University

“Martin Fritter’s piano fuses urbane jazz voice with merciful, passionate
stream of consciousness.  His touch is a caressing breeze in high altitude aspen trees.”

Susan Edwards, former Boulder Arts Commissioner, writer.
